Feedback’s Research Director Dylan Tibert’s paper, “Agency Perspectives on Industry Digital Ethnography“, has been published in the 2024 (INDUSTRY) issue of the ASSOCIATION OF INTERNET RESEARCHERS‘s annual conference journal, SPIR (Selected Papers of Internet Research). Tibert presented the paper alongside the other chosen #AoIR2024 presenter peers – whose brilliant work redefines the cutting edge of internet research each year.

We highly encourage a read of the AoIR 2024 Industry issue of SPIR to anyone who seeks to better understand the world as it is, increasingly with each passing day, both shaped and understood by the internet. Dylan’s paper can be found here: https://spir.aoir.org/ojs/index.php/spir/article/view/14066.
An excerpt:
“Industry research, like Feedback’s, has roots and sustaining connections in scholarly ethnography, and continues to carry forward that theoretical complexity as well as the centeredness on data ethics and public good. Industry research experience offers insight into how industry might be studied in kind. Likewise, it is vital to facilitate spaces, like AoIR, for industry researchers to loop back into scholarly discourse, to mutually enrich the practices in both spaces.”
Lastly, if the internet’s role in 2025 so far is ANY indicator, it feels safe to say this year’s Association of Internet Researchers conference (#AoIR2025) in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 15-18 October 2025 will house particularly, critically important conversations to follow this Fall.
